Mission

Hatch International is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to bring together diverse ideas and people, and empower them to catalyze sustainable positive change.

Vision

Our vision is to create a world where everyone's human potential is realized and utilized, a world in which communities empower one another for the greater good.

Our Story

Hatch International was founded in January 2010 under the original name Vort Port International (VPI), and began with a serendipitous union of individuals interested in empowering people around the world to live higher-quality and more sustainable lives. With Merry Walker leading the team, VPI gained momentum in her hometown of Ann Arbor, MI, before moving to our current headquarters in Washington, DC. Through a wide range of partnerships we grew into a global nonprofit, connecting individuals and organizations in India, Madagascar, and Uganda.

In 2013 we changed our name to Hatch International to better convey what we do as an organization -- we bring together people and communities, and help build their ideas into self-sustainable social ventures.

As Hatch continues to expand and develop new initiatives under Shivangi Khargonekar's leadership, communities that were previously overlooked can now turn to us for help providing low-cost and socially sustainable solutions. With one fully launched social venture and one more in production globally, we are now refocusing our efforts domestically to help address critical social challenges that Americans are facing in our own backyard through innovative solutions. Hatch is seeking individuals and groups to partner with us and support our cause.
